Recovering from breast implant surgery in Cleveland, Ohio, as with any surgery, is a gradual process. Some patients recover more quickly while others may be a bit slower. In general, the recovery following this procedure is not exceptionally difficult. The typical patient will experience some pain and discomfort and use pain medication for a few days following surgery. Depending upon the occupation, most patients will return to work 5 to 7 days after surgery. After 1 to 2 weeks patients can resume non-impact lower body exercise. Four weeks after surgery they can resume more rigorous exercises and 6 weeks following surgery they can resume upper body exercise.

Patients with smaller breast size to start may take longer for the implants to settle. Also, patients who request larger implants may also require more time for the implants to settle and the tissues to stretc- out to accomodate the breast implant.

Some of the complications which can occur following augmentation are: bleeding; infection; capsular contracture; and deflation.
